Lets just say the Redfish bite was HOT!!! Nearly every outer mangrove island we stopped and fished, we caught a redfish. We started the day thinking we were going to do some trout fishing but after stopping and seeing the kelp was already bent over from an early incoming tide, we knew not to waste our time so we went straight to Redfishing. We used chunked mullet, shrimp and pinfish. We were most successful with the chunked mullet cutting it into small pieces and free lining it with a 3/0 circle hook. The photo shown below was the from the first mangrove patch we stopped at in Homosassa. This was Jimmie's first Redfish ever and was that perfect red coming in at 26.75" weighing 7.7lbs, what a beauty!
