Welcome
The River and Adventure Company invites you to explore the natural beauty and wonder of the North Thompson River. This glacier fed river has its origins just beyond the northern boundary of British Columbia's most spectacular provincial park: Wells Gray.
Trickling down from one of the many glacier-capped mountains in the Premier Range, the North Thompson River makes its three hundred and fifty kilometre descent to Kamloops (Tk'emlups) 'the meeting of the waters', where it joins with the South Thompson River.
Depending on the time of year you are on the river with us, you will be treated to the ever-changing land and waterscapes, as the river rhythmically cycles along with the seasons. In spring, the melting of the high country snow brings a surge of new life into the valley. The flora and fauna of the North Thompson start to stir and resume their respective places and roles.
As spring turns to summer, the North Thompson reveals shorelines of sand and gravel bars that have been sculpted and polished for generations. With autumn's approach, a ribbon of color will once again transform the landscape, leaving you with panoramic postcard images of this truly majestic river.
